Sarantos graduated from the University of Edinburgh in mechanical engineering and acoustics and holds a Masters diploma in computational biomedical engineering from Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

Before joining our lab, Sarantos started his PhD at the Hearing Systems group at the Technical University of Denmark supervised by professors Jeremy Marozeau and Bastian Epp. His project aims at investigating novel pulse shapes in Cochlear Implantation (CI) stimulation strategies by computational modeling of the neural-electrode interface and psychophysics experiments in order to improve musical perception. He has experience in 3D pre-surgical planning software for CI based on cochlear CT scans from his Master thesis and as a research consultant at Oticon Medical.

Sarantos joined our lab as a research analyst in February 2021 and will continue his PhD in October 2021.
